  • Settlement Reached on Proposed Dance Pit Expansion

    Joint Media Release The Township of North Dumfries and the City of Cambridge have reached agreement with CBM Aggregates (CBM) on a zoning by-law amendment that will permit an expansion of the Dance Pit, an existing gravel operation located in the Township near the Cambridge boundary. The settlement comes after an eighteen-month multidisciplinary peer review process spearheaded by the City and Township, and included expert meetings and discussions with CBM, and a presentation to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT)for approval at a settlement hearing today, August 13, 2025.

  • Region-wide fire ban takes effect in Cambridge beginning Friday, August 8 at 4 p.m. In response to growing concerns around prolonged drought conditions and the escalating threat of fire ignition, a fire ban will take effect in Cambridge beginning Friday, August 8 at 4:00 p.m.
  • CCA elevator out of service beginning August 8 The elevator at the Cambridge Centre for the Arts, located at 60 Dickson Street, is currently out of service due to hydraulic fluid loss. A technician will be on site Monday morning to assess the issue and determine the scope of repairs needed.

  • City of Cambridge identifies off-schedule third-party livestreaming at arenas This morning, City of Cambridge staff were able to confirm that cameras intended for the streaming of live sporting events and recreational activities in city arenas have remained operational and inadvertently streamed participants in youth camps. The cameras are to be activated when organized sport (practices or games) were scheduled.
