Whether you’re looking for employment and skills training, entrepreneurship support, wellness resources, or community programs, these resources are designed to help you access opportunities, build connections and take the next step toward professional growth.

Program and Service Providers

The Youth Creativity Fund supports young people by providing funding and opportunities to bring creative ideas to life. Youth can access grants and mentorship to explore arts, culture, innovation and community‑based projects. The goal is to empower youth voices and support creative expression.

The Waterloo Region Small Business Centre provides guidance and resources for those interested in starting or growing a business. Youth can access workshops, training, one‑on‑one consultations, funding information and a youth entrepreneurship program called "Summer Company" that takes place during the summer months.

EmployNext connects job seekers with employment opportunities, career coaching and skills development programs. Youth can receive job search support, resume help, training opportunities and connections to local employers. The platform is designed to support pathways into meaningful work.

Starling Community Services is a not‑for‑profit organization that provides mental health supports and employment programs for community members. Starling focuses on strengthening well‑being and helping young people access the supports they need to thrive in their communities.

Starling is one of four Employment Ontario service providers based in Cambridge.

Kinbridge Community Association offers a wide range of community programs focused on youth engagement, learning and wellness. Youth get access to educational supports, recreational activities, leadership development and community connections. Programs are designed to be inclusive and accessible.

YouthForce is a program provided by Kinbridge, and employs youth and young adults from Cambridge and the surrounding areas.

The YMCA of Three Rivers provides programs that support youth development, health and community connection. The YMCA focuses on helping youth build skills, confidence and strong social networks.

Argus Residence offers supportive housing and services for youth who are transitioning to independent living. Programs focus on stability, life skills, education and employment readiness.

THRIVE is a program offered by Argus that supports youth employment in partnership with Uptown Thrift in Preston. The program provides participants with 30 hours of paid training over a 10-week period. During this time, individuals spend approximately 22 hours each week gaining hands-on experience working directly at the Uptown Thrift store, helping them build practical skills in a real work environment.

Events

Discover a range of upcoming events at the Cambridge Public Library designed for teens and young adults. Drop in between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm for personalized employment support, with interactive employment workshops running from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm to build your skills further.

Waterloo Region Youth Impact Survey

The 2026 Youth Impact Survey is now live. Hosted by the Children and Youth Planning Table, the survey provides an opportunity to hear directly from young people in the Waterloo Region. The survey is intended for youth ages 9-18 and asks questions about nine dimensions of well-being. Learn more about the Youth Impact Survey.
