    The City of Cambridge is mourning the loss of former City Councillor John Edward (Ted) Fairless, who passed away on March 23, 2025. Ted served as both City Councillor and Regional Councillor from 1973-1980, 1983-1991 and 1995-2000.

  • City receives Canadian Award for Financial Reporting for ninth consecutive year

    The City of Cambridge has once again been recognized for its excellence in financial reporting, receiving the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting (CAnFR) from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). This marks the ninth consecutive year the City has earned this honour.

  • UPDATE: Fashion History Museum Timeline The Fashion History Museum (FHM) contacted the City of Cambridge on Tuesday, March 18 at 1:19pm to request until May 19, 2025, to remove items from the building. Simultaneously, the FHM launched an unnecessary campaign requesting that members of the public contact City staff and Members of Council to request an extension to the 14 day timeline to vacate.

  • City of Cambridge Ends the Fashion History Museum Lease The City of Cambridge has made the difficult decision to end the Fashion History Museum's (FHM) lease at 74 Queen Street East due to significant unpaid rent totaling approximately $140,000, since June 2023, costs which would transfer to the taxpayer. The FHM operates out of the main floor level in a commercial lease agreement, however, the museum curators live on-site in a second-floor apartment suite and have not provided payment for the space, as agreed to in their lease.

    The City of Cambridge is proud to announce that Winterfest has been named one of Ontario's Top 100 Festivals & Events by Festivals and Events Ontario (FEO). The award was presented to the City's events team at the FEO “SYNERGY” Conference in Kitchener in late February.
