Council Training: 2026–2030 Term of Council

Welcome to the Council Training program webpage for the 2026–2030 Term of Council. Here, residents can learn about the training designed to support newly elected and returning Council members in their roles and service to the community.

This page supports transparency and public engagement by sharing how Council members prepare to represent and serve the community. Members of the public are welcome and encouraged to observe any of the training sessions to gain a better understanding of municipal governance. For members of the public, the open portion of these training sessions are strictly for observation. No delegation requests or correspondence will be accepted for these meetings.

The program introduces a continuous learning approach for the new Term of Council. Following the initial Module 1 sessions outlined below, additional learning modules will be offered over the coming months, with regular workshops and training opportunities continuing throughout the term. Sessions will cover strategic priorities, leadership development, specific topics, legislative changes, emerging issues, and matters coming before Council. This approach is intended to support Council members throughout their term and strengthen Council’s effectiveness as a governing body by fostering a shared understanding and alignment on priorities.

Training Sessions and Agendas can be found below or on the Council Calendar.
