Step 1: Check and Update Your Voter Information

The VIP allows eligible Cambridge voters to:

  • Confirm they are on the voters' list
  • Review their voter information
  • Update their information if it has changed

To update your voter information, you may need:

  • Government-issued identification
  • Proof of your current address

Once you have submitted a change to your voter information the City of Cambridge Clerk's Office will review changes and make revisions.

Step 2: Validate your Identity

Why Do I Need to Do This?

Just as you would show identification when voting in person, online voting requires identity verification.

During this process, you'll be asked to upload a photo of your government-issued photo ID.

Completing identity validation before voting helps make the voting process faster and easier when online voting opens.

What You'll Need:

One of the following valid government-issued photo IDs:

  • Driver's Licence
  • Ontario Photo Card
  • Passport
  • Additional accepted forms of ID, if applicable

Step 3: Vote Online

Online voting is available from September 26 to October 26.

What You'll Need:

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A computer, tablet or smartphone with a camera
  • An internet connection
  • Your Voting PIN

Frequently Asked Questions

Your Voting PIN is a unique code used to access the online voting system. Keep your PIN secure and do not share it with anyone.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Allow pop-ups for the voting website
  • Allow camera access when prompted
  • Make sure you are using a supported web browser

If pages are not loading correctly:

  • Clear your browser history and cache
  • Close your browser completely
  • Reopen the browser and try again

For best results:

  • Place the ID on a flat surface
  • Ensure the entire piece of ID is visible
  • Make sure all text is clear and readable
  • Avoid glare, shadows or blurry photos
