Let us help you make your special day perfect!  With its historical architecture and beautiful scenery, Cambridge is the perfect backdrop for photos of your special day. City Hall Marriage Ceremonies take place in our beautiful Historic City Hall located at 46 Dickson Street, Cambridge. The City offers legal and professional wedding officiants for small gatherings of up to fifty (50) people.

Getting Your Marriage Licence in Ontario

How to book:

  • Call 519-623-1340 or visit City Hall in person to schedule your ceremony.

Available days & times:

  • Ceremonies may be booked on Mondays (excluding statutory holidays) and Fridays for available time slots between the hours of 10am and 3pm.

Looking for another day?

  • Requests for ceremonies on a day other than a Monday or Friday may be made and will be accommodated provided that the ceremony space is available for use.

Arrival & Entry

  • You and your guests may arrive no more than 5–10 minutes before your scheduled time.
  • Early arrivals (more than 10 minutes) will not be permitted entry.
  • At your appointment time, the Marriage Officiant will greet you at the Old City Hall entrance and escort everyone to the ceremony space.

Capacity & Seating

  • Due to space and fire code, maximum 50 people may attend.
  • If seating is available, guests may be seated in designated areas or stand, provided physical distancing is adhered to (as required).

After the Ceremony

  • Couples, witnesses and guests must exit promptly so the officiant can prepare for the next ceremony.
  • Photography is permitted only inside the ceremony space. Photos elsewhere in the building and wandering within the building are not permitted.

Cancellations & Missed Appointments

  • Missed or cancelled ceremonies are not refundable.

2026 Marriage Fees are:

  • Marriage License - $187.00
  • Administrative Fee (per wedding) - $164.00
  • Officiant Fee (per wedding) - $242.00
  • Witness Fee (per witness, if required) - $35.00
