Municipal Election Financial Statements

Financial statements from candidates and registered third party advertisers for municipal elections are available on this page, under section 88(9.1) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.

The filed financial statements on this webpage were prepared manually by candidates and third-party advertisers. Municipal staff have not verified, edited, or altered the information contained in these statements. 

These documents are made available to provide public access to scanned PDF copies of the original filed statements. As these statements were completed in hard copy and cannot be modified by staff, the scanner versions posted here may not be fully accessible for users of assistive technology.

Final day of the 30‑day grace period for candidates and third parties to file their initial financial statement and auditor’s report.
June 30, 2027
Last day of the extended campaign period for candidates or registered third‑party advertisers who continued their campaign due to a declared deficit.
September 24, 2027
Deadline for candidates and third‑party advertisers who extended their campaign to file their supplementary financial statement and auditor’s report.
October 25, 2027
Final day of the 30‑day grace period for candidates and third parties to file their supplementary financial statement and auditor’s report.

Candidate Status Terms

Certain terms may appear next to candidate names. These terms are defined below to help clarify their meaning under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. 

A candidate is listed as In Default when they fail to meet required financial reporting obligations, such as not filing a financial statement, not filing on time, or exceeding the spending limit.

  • Failure to submit a financial statement result in the candidate being in default under the Act, with penalties that may include loss of eligibility for office in the current and next election cycle. 
  • Municipalities also categorize candidates as In Default when they do not file at all, do not file on time, or exceed their expense limit.

A Withdrawn candidate is someone who formally withdrew their nomination during the election period. Withdrawn candidates must still file a financial statement after the campaign period ends.

A Rejected candidate (or campaign) is one whose nomination or financial filing has been rejected in accordance with the procedures set out in the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. This can occur, for example, if required documentation is incomplete, incorrect, or not filed within legislated timelines.
