City receives Canadian Award for Financial Reporting

For the tenth consecutive year, the City of Cambridge is pleased to be recognized for excellence in financial reporting, receiving the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting (CAnFR) from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).

The award acknowledges the City’s 2024 Annual Financial Report, which was assessed by impartial Canadian Review Committee members. The report met the program's high standards, demonstrating a clear and comprehensive presentation of the City’s financial story.

“Winning this award is a significant achievement for the City and reflects our commitment to transparency and excellence in financial reporting,” said City Manager Rob Axiak. “This work is championed by our finance and corporate communications teams and made possible through the support and collaboration of every City department, ensuring residents receive clear and accessible financial information.”

Receiving this award represents a significant accomplishment and demonstrates the City’s ongoing commitment to the responsible management of its financial resources, ensuring transparency and accountability – a key principle of the City’s Strategic Plan - Cambridge Connected.

The Canadian Award for Financial Reporting Program encourages municipalities to produce high-quality financial reports that are easily readable and efficiently organized.
