  • The City is looking for feedback on Property Standards and Lot Maintenance by-laws The City of Cambridge is conducting a review of our Property Standards and Lot Maintenance by-laws, and we want to hear from you! These by-laws set out the rules for maintenance of buildings and yards in Cambridge, to make sure they are well cared for, safe and free from hazards. The Property Standards By-law outlines rules that ensure buildings are safe and well maintained, both inside and out.
  • Watermain cleaning program begins in Preston Sept. 15 Watermain cleaning in the Preston area will begin on Monday, September 15 through to mid-October as part of the City's regular Watermain Cleaning Program. The City of Cambridge cleans watermains on a regular basis in order to remove accumulated material and maintain drinking water quality.

  • Draining pools and hot tubs responsibly this season As we head into the cooler season, a reminder to please drain your pools and hot tubs responsibly by not dumping chlorinated water into storm sewers, parks, neighbouring properties, or other natural areas in the city. Unlike household drains, storm sewers flow straight into local rivers carrying chemicals that harm fish, wildlife, and the environment.

  • Settlement Reached on Proposed Dance Pit Expansion

    Joint Media Release The Township of North Dumfries and the City of Cambridge have reached agreement with CBM Aggregates (CBM) on a zoning by-law amendment that will permit an expansion of the Dance Pit, an existing gravel operation located in the Township near the Cambridge boundary. The settlement comes after an eighteen-month multidisciplinary peer review process spearheaded by the City and Township, and included expert meetings and discussions with CBM, and a presentation to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT)for approval at a settlement hearing today, August 13, 2025.
