Snow Event Declared starting Thursday, January 22 at 7 a.m.
Based on current and expected weather conditions, the City of Cambridge is declaring a Snow Event starting Thursday, January 22 at 7 a.m. Due to the current forecast, the snow event will be in effect until Saturday, January 24 at noon (12 p.m.)
This means:
- An on-street parking ban is in effect. Vehicles should not be parked on any city street at any time for the duration of the snow event. This allows snowplows to clear more efficiently and safely. Vehicles left on the road may be ticketed and/or towed.
- Sidewalks should be cleared within 36 hours following the end of snowfall. Snow should not be shoveled onto the road.
- Please wait 36 hours after the snow event is over to report a problem area.
City snowplows clear roads based on provincial guidelines and a priority schedule with priority roads cleared first and residential roads cleared last. Residential roads are typically not salted, so snowpack will remain on the surface.
