Residents invited to free Oktoberfest Lunch on Wednesday, October 15
Bring your oom-pah and appetite and enjoy a sausage with sauerkraut at City Hall
Join Mayor Jan Liggett and Cambridge City Council for the annual Cambridge Oktoberfest Lunch on Wednesday, October 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at City Hall, Civic Square.
Spread some gemütlichkeit in true Oktoberfest fashion while enjoying a free sausage with sauerkraut (while supplies last), Bavaria music, a keg tapping ceremony, and a visit with KW Oktoberfest’s Onkel Hans and Tante Frieda.
“Oktoberfest is a long tradition in our community that brings people together in the spirit of community, culture and celebration,” said Mayor Jan Liggett. “We’re proud to host this annual lunch and are honoured this year to have Matthias Lüttenberg, the German ambassador to Canada attend. I look forward to hearing from him about how the Cambridge experience compares to a traditional German Oktoberfest.”
Cambridge’s Oktoberfest lunch is a part of the wider Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors annually as one of the largest Bavarian Festivals outside of Germany.
The 2025 Cambridge Oktoberfest lunch has been generously supported by the Cambridge Farmers Market, M&M Food Market, and Sobeys. A special thank you to Farm League Brewing for providing a keg for the ceremonial keg tapping.
