Residents invited to free Oktoberfest Lunch on Wednesday, October 14

Join Mayor Jan Liggett and members of City Council for the annual Cambridge Oktoberfest Lunch on Wednesday, October 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at City Hall, Civic Square. Cambridge’s Oktoberfest lunch is a part of the wider Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors annually as one of the largest Bavarian Festivals outside of Germany.

"Oktoberfest is one of the traditions that brings our community together year after year," said Mayor Jan Liggett. "It's a chance to connect with neighbours, celebrate German heritage, and enjoy the welcoming spirit that makes Cambridge such a great place to call home. I look forward to seeing residents of all ages join us for this fun and festive afternoon."

Volunteers will be handing out sausages with sauerkraut, while supplies last. KW Oktoberfest’s mascots Onkel Hans and Tante Frieda will be on hand to spread gemütlichkeit to all attendees, while the Black Forest Band will keep your toes tapping to the oom-pah beat. There will also be a ceremonial keg tapping. While the beer is for the ceremony only, there will be water refill stations available to fill your steins.
