PUBLIC NOTICE - Hespeler Heritage Conservation District Plan - October 7, 2025

The City of Cambridge is holding a Public Meeting on the Hespeler Heritage Conservation District (HCD) Plan, in accordance with Part V of the Ontario Heritage Act.
The HCD Plan will help Hespeler conserve its cultural heritage value while guiding future change.

Location: Council Chambers, City Hall, 50 Dickson Street, Cambridge, ON


The Hespeler HCD Plan is intended to maintain Hespeler’s cultural heritage value while providing guidance to property owners and developers on significant changes within the District. The draft Hespeler HCD Plan is available for review and public comment on the project website: cambridge.ca/HespelerHCD. Public comments are solicited on the plan until November 15, 2025.
The October 7, 2025, Public Meeting of Council is the Statutory Public Meeting required under Section 41.1 of the Ontario Heritage Act. The meeting gives the public the opportunity to make verbal representations or written submissions regarding the HCD Plan.


A person who does not raise objections to the adoption of a proposed heritage conservation district plan by making oral representations or written submissions at a public meeting may be later denied an opportunity to appeal the passing of a by-law adopting the plan. How to Speak at the Public Meeting:

If you plan to attend the meeting in-person and wish to register in advance to speak, please complete a delegation request form at cambridge.ca/en/your-city/Speak-at-a-Council-Meeting.aspx. Please check the Council agenda the Thursday before the meeting to confirm this date on the City website here: calendar.cambridge.ca/council. A presentation by staff will also be available online at this link prior to the meeting. Copies of the plan and the staff report will be available on the City of Cambridge Council Calendar where meetings are posted and agenda materials can be found. This meeting will also be live streamed on the City of Cambridge’s YouTube channel.
