Mayor’s Soup Sampler returns for first time since 2019

Proceeds from tasty event to support local charity

For the first time since 2019, the Mayor’s soup sampler returns to City Hall. Dubbed Souper G.O.A.T.’s (Greatest of All Time Community Soup Showdown) – the event will take place Saturday, March 28 and bring the community together for a delicious afternoon in support of Community Support Connections Meals on Wheels program.

“I am happy to see this event brought back for 2026 and invite residents to come out and taste a variety of soups crafted by local restaurants while at the same time supporting a meaningful cause,” said Mayor Jan Liggett. “I myself can’t wait to sample all the offerings of our local culinary talent, connect with the community and support an organization that provides essential services to residents.”

Event Details

Aside from the various soup offerings, this year’s event will feature live music, a judging panel to crown the top soup, and community voting to select the People’s Choice winner.

The Mayor’s soup sampler was an annual community favourite until 2020, when it paused during the pandemic. It’s return in 2026 marks the first time the event has been held in seven years, renewing a tradition that brings residents, restaurants, and partners together.

Community Support Connections is a non-profit organization that offers support services to help older adults and persons with different abilities live a healthy, independent life. Services focus on four areas: Nutrition, Physical Health, Social Wellbeing and Help at Home.
