Mayor Jan Liggett Appoints Yogesh Shah as Interim City Manager

Today, Mayor Jan Liggett announced the appointment of Yogesh Shah as the Interim City Manager, which will become effective at 4:30 p.m. on August 31, 2025.

Currently the General Manager of Infrastructure Services, Yogesh joined the City in 2006 as Manager of Asset Management and held progressively senior roles including Director of Engineering Infrastructure, Director of Project Management, and Director of Asset Management.  Prior to joining the City of Cambridge, Yogesh contributed to the City of Kitchener and the private sector, totaling 33 years of experience. As Interim City Manager, Yogesh will not participate in the competition for the permanent role but will contribute to the process of recruiting a new City Manager, and will provide a smooth transition as the leadership change takes place.

“I am honoured to accept the role of Interim City Manager and look forward to working more closely with Mayor Liggett, Council and staff, while continuing to lead the organization throughout the recruitment process,” said Yogesh Shah. “Together we will continue to build on the great work already underway and continue to serve the residents of Cambridge with dedication and integrity.”
