Forbes Park playground is creating a buzz!

The City of Cambridge is excited to share that the new playground at Forbes Park is now open and already creating quite a buzz in the community! 

Construction on the new playground began earlier this summer and was completed this month. The project was shaped by community feedback, with almost 400 residents helping choose the final playground concept through Engage Cambridge. 

Bees are a common theme across Hespeler Village and this playground contributes to that theme. It encourages imaginative play while offering a range of experiences for different ages and abilities. From buzzing through climbing structures to discovering sensory play elements, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Accessible pathways and rubber surfacing help make the playground welcoming for children of different ages and abilities. 

Since opening, families have already been swarming to Forbes Park to enjoy the new space. The playground has quickly become a community gathering place where children can play, neighbours can connect, and families can make memories together. 

The City of Cambridge would like to thank everyone who participated in the engagement process and helped bring this exciting project to life.
