City leader Danielle Manton marks successful year as AMCTO President
It’s hard to believe a year has passed since City of Cambridge General Manager of Corporate Services, Danielle Manton stepped into the role of President of the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO). AMCTO is Ontario's largest association of local government professionals and the leading professional development organization for municipal staff. With more than 2,200 members, the organization supports administrators working in clerks, finance, and management departments across the province's 444 municipalities.
Over the past 12 months, Danielle has travelled across Ontario, connected with municipal leaders from communities of all sizes, and helped champion collaboration, professional excellence, and strong local governance. From supporting advocacy efforts and advancing AMCTO’s Strategic Plan to highlighting the contributions of municipal professionals across the province, her term was marked by leadership and impact.
As her presidency came to a close at the 2026 AMCTO Conference, Danielle reflected on the experience and the people who helped make it possible, “I was deeply moved to close out my term as AMCTO president. The experience was not only an incredible professional honour, but also a reminder of the power of member-based associations like AMCTO, where the members are the true value behind the work. While the President may be the visible face of the association, this role is only possible because of the people standing behind you and for that I’m deeply grateful to all the AMCTO staff, Board members, and volunteers. I’m also thankful to my family and the staff and Council at the City of Cambridge for all the encouragement and support through this journey.”
As her term concludes, Danielle continues to make an impact. In honour of her volunteer time serving as the President of AMCTO, the Association gifted her a $500 cheque to a charity of her choice, this week, she presented the cheque on behalf of AMCTO to Seeds Canada, a local Cambridge organization that offers a long-term program designed to support women (18 and older) who are survivors of sex-trafficking and exploitation. The program helps with recovery and building essential life skills, so participants are empowered to start a new chapter in their lives.
Danielle’s leadership on the AMTCO stage, reflects the City of Cambridge’s commitment to excellence in public service and continuous improvement. Congratulations Danielle on a remarkable year of service and leadership.
