City launches community volunteer survey ahead of National Volunteer Week: April 19 - 25
Cambridge, Ontario. (April 17, 2026) The City of Cambridge is inviting residents to help shape the future of volunteering in the community by sharing their experiences, challenges and ideas through a new public engagement survey.
“This is an opportunity for our community to directly influence how volunteering evolves in Cambridge,” said Mayor Jan Liggett. “As we prepare to celebrate National Volunteer Week, we are reminded that volunteers are at the heart of what makes Cambridge a caring, connected, and vibrant community. This survey ensures we continue building a volunteer experience that reflects the diverse voices, interests, and experiences of our residents, while creating new relationships.”
The survey will gather feedback on what is working well, what could be improved, and how volunteer opportunities can become more accessible, inclusive, and meaningful for everyone. Survey responses will help shape future volunteer opportunities with the City.
Residents have until May 13 to complete the survey by visiting Engage Cambridge at: engagewr.ca/community-voices-volunteering
National Volunteer Week runs April 19 – 25. Please view a message of thanks to the City’s many volunteers for their time, effort and dedication from Mayor Liggett. As well, to celebrate City volunteers, a volunteer appreciation event is being held on April 22. During National Volunteer Week, City social media channels will feature profiles of a few of the volunteers who help with various events and programs throughout the City.
