City announces sponsorship for the Kinsmen Stadium Fieldhouse

The City of Cambridge is pleased to announce the generous contribution of $100,000 from Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada Inc. (TMMC) to support the revitalization of the Kinsmen Stadium Fieldhouse (Kin 1 Diamond) in Riverside Park.

The revitalization project will transform this well-loved community space into an inclusive, high-quality venue focused on accessibility, performance, and creating an enjoyable space for spectators to take in a baseball game.

“I want to thank Toyota Motor Manufacturing once again for their generosity. Without the spirit of their sponsorship, we wouldn't be able to provide for the community the way we do. The Toyota Fieldhouse represents more than just an investment in infrastructure. It’s an investment in people, inclusion, and the shared experiences that bring our community together,” said Mayor Jan Liggett. “Having a fun, safe and accessible space for all players, visitors and residents to enjoy is at the heart of the Cambridge experience.”

Upgrades include a fully accessible parking area, hard-surface pathways, and enhanced spectator seating to ensure barrier-free movement throughout the site. New covered dugouts will support teams, while the diamond will feature a state-of-the-art artificial turf infield and a natural turf outfield that maintains the park’s green character. The enhancements also include new washrooms, changerooms, and an expanded licensed concession with a patio, further creating a welcoming environment for both events and everyday community use.

The City of Cambridge thanks TMMC for its continued support and partnership in helping to create vibrant, accessible, and inclusive spaces in the city.

This sponsorship is part of Play it Forward Cambridge, the City’s fundraising campaign to support the capital costs of renovations at Kin 1 Diamond, the Preston Memorial Auditorium, the Cambridge Recreation Complex and the completed Cambridge Soccer Complex. Play it Forward Cambridge is about investing in spaces that bring people together and foster health, wellness and a sense of belonging, which is an important part of the City’s Strategic Plan – Cambridge Connected.  Individuals or companies interested in contributing to the revitalization of any of these projects can find out more at, cambridge.ca/PlayItForward.
