Cambridge pollinator gardens are buzzing with life

The City of Cambridge has been adding pollinator gardens throughout the city to help support local bees, butterflies and other insects!  

Next time you're at Ellacott Landing, Riverside Park or Soper Park, take a closer look at the pollinator gardens. You’ll spot bumblebees gathering pollen or butterflies moving from flower to flower. The gardens are planted using a blend of annual and perennial plants specifically chosen to produce nectar and pollen that pollinators rely on. With a diverse mix of wildflowers such as Wild Lupin, White Clover, and Sweet Migonette these gardens provide food and shelter throughout the growing season.   

Pollinators play an essential role in healthy ecosystems. Bees, butterflies, moths and other insects help flowering plants reproduce, which supports the health of natural environments. 

These small but impactful garden spaces help support local biodiversity while adding colour and beauty to Cambridge's parks.
