Make a splash: George Hancock Pool celebrates 75 years

For 75 summers, the George Hancock Pool has been more than a place to swim; it has been a favourite neighbourhood gathering spot, a cherished community space and a backdrop for generations of Cambridge memories. 

Join us on Thursday, September 3 at the George Hancock Pool as we celebrate this milestone with a day of community fun, refreshing lemonade, birthday cake and free swims. Dive in from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 2:30 to 4 p.m., and enjoy games, activities and treats throughout the afternoon. 

From first swimming lessons to sunny afternoons spent with family and friends, the George Hancock Pool has been woven into the lives of countless Cambridge residents. This celebration is an opportunity to honour a beloved community gathering place, reflect on cherished memories and create new ones together.
