Hespeler Optimist Park playground is now open!

There’s a new place to play in Cambridge! Construction is complete, and the new playground at Hespeler Optimist Park is ready for your next adventure.

Almost 500 residents provided feedback on the space, helping to identify the features that were most important. This input helped shape the space to reflect the needs and interests of families and create new opportunities for children to play, explore, and connect.

The new playground has many exciting features, including a variety of slides, swings, and climbing elements designed to keep children active. Ground-level play opportunities are also incorporated throughout the space, helping children of different ages and abilities enjoy the playground together.

One of the playground’s standout features is its advanced climbing structure, which reaches four metres high and offers even more opportunities for young adventurers to test their skills and build confidence. A sensory tunnel with a wheelchair-accessible entry encourages children to explore colours, textures, and different sensory experiences through play.

Whether children are conquering climbing challenges, racing down slides, soaring on swings, or creating their next big adventure, the new playground is designed to spark imagination!

Grab your sneakers, gather the family, and come experience Cambridge's newest playground!
