Community selects future Hill 60 Park playground concept

A new playground concept has been selected for the Hill 60 Park playground project after nearly 200 people cast their vote in an online poll. The poll asked residents to select one of two themes, and the Factory theme came out as the winner with 58 per cent of the vote.

The Factory presents a vibrant world of creativity and discovery. Bright colours, imaginative structures, and interactive play elements invite children to explore, invent, and let their imaginations soar.   

Located behind Monsignor Doyle Catholic Secondary School, the new Hill 60 Park playground will provide children with opportunities to climb, slide, swing, spin, and explore through imaginative play. The design includes two slides, a variety of climbing features that offer different levels of challenge, and a four-piece swing set. Park explorers will also be able to engage in creative play through interactive elements such as a lemonade stand, steering wheel, and binoculars.

The new playground includes accessibility-focused features such as a ramp to the play area, accessible seating, and play equipment structured to help support visitors of all ages and abilities.

Construction of the new playground is currently planned for spring 2027. The City looks forward to bringing this community-selected design to life and creating a welcoming place for all. To learn more about this project, visit EngageWR.
