City raising Pride Flag in honour of Pride Month
The City will celebrate Pride Month with a flag-raising ceremony at City Hall Civic Square on June 1, to recognize the history and courage of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
Residents and community groups are invited to attend the ceremony, which will include remarks from Mayor Jan Liggett, food trucks and a musical performance. The event will run on Monday, June 1 from 3 – 5 p.m.
“Raising the Pride flag is a visible symbol of our commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive community for everyone,” said Liggett. “Cambridge is stronger when all residents feel safe, respected and celebrated for who they are.”
Pride Month is observed annually in June. The flag-raising is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to support equity, diversity and inclusion, and to acknowledge the achievements of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
