City Invites Residents to Celebrate Grandparents Month This September

This September, the City of Cambridge is celebrating the special bonds between generations with a full month of activities designed to bring grandparents, grandchildren, families and friends together.

While Grandparents Day is traditionally celebrated on September 13, Cambridge is once again extending the celebration throughout the month, offering opportunities to connect, create new memories and enjoy quality time together. From recreational programs and creative workshops to outdoor experiences and family-friendly events, there are plenty of ways to spend quality time with loved ones and make lasting memories.

Intergenerational connections play an important role in building a sense of belonging, supporting well-being and strengthening our community. Grandparents Month is a chance to celebrate those relationships while encouraging residents of all ages to participate in activities that inspire fun, friendship and connection.

In addition to organized events, residents are encouraged to create their own #GrandExperience throughout September. Whether it's preparing a favourite family recipe, exploring a local trail, volunteering together or performing random acts of kindness, even simple moments can become meaningful memories.
