Cambridge Election Hotline Supports Hundreds of Voters Ahead of Election Day
As Cambridge residents continue casting their ballots ahead of Election Day on October 26, the City’s expanded election support hotline has become a valuable resource for voters seeking assistance with the online voting process.
Since launching the service, the hotline has received 712 calls, highlighting both the community’s engagement in the election and the importance of providing accessible voter assistance. The hotline was expanded in response to resident feedback and questions about navigating the online voting system, with additional staff made available to help residents vote with confidence.
The calls have ranged from requests for help accessing online ballots and confirming voter eligibility to questions about ward information, voting requirements, and available voting options. The high volume of inquiries demonstrates that when support is readily available, residents are eager to participate and ensure their vote is counted.
“The response we've seen through the election hotline shows that residents are engaged and want to participate in shaping the future of our community,” said Jennifer Shaw, City Clerk and Returning Officer. “Every call is an opportunity to help someone overcome a barrier, answer a question, or provide reassurance so they can cast their ballot with confidence.”
The hotline expansion is one of several initiatives designed to support voter participation during the 2026 municipal election. City staff continue to provide assistance by phone, email, and in person at City Hall, where residents can receive support with the online voting process. The hotline also helps residents confirm their voter status, verify ward information, and access guidance on voting options.
With Election Day approaching, the City is encouraging eligible voters not to wait until the last minute to cast their ballot.
Municipal elections directly influence the services and decisions that affect daily life, from roads and parks to recreation services, community planning, and public safety. By taking part in the election, residents help shape the future of Cambridge and the direction of their community.
Residents who need assistance with voting can contact the election hotline or visit the City’s election webpage for information about voting options and Election Day locations. The hotline is operating this weekend on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
Election Day is Monday, October 26.
