Councillor Devine was elected to his first term on Cambridge City Council in 2014, sitting on Public Works and Economic Committee.
Employment
Councillor Devine is an owner a small business, Devine Produce that supplies produce locally. Prior to his business, he was a tool and die maker and was a former president for the Canadian Auto Workers Local 1451. Councillor Devine also sits on the board of directors of the Social Planning Council of Cambridge and North Dumfries.
Community & Civic Activities
Councillor Devine worked with the Provincial Advisory Committee of the Metal Machining Trades on Apprenticeship and Exam Certification, the Federal Red Seal Committee on Skilled Trades Exam Certification, was an Executive member of the former Cambridge Industrial Committee, appointed to the Board of Referees for Employment Insurance, former Hespeler Minor Softball coach, Former Executive Board of the Cambridge and North Dumfries Social Planning Council and strong supporter of United Way and Food Bank

Councillor Devine has been married to his wife Janis for 40 years and has two children - Shannon (Jonathan) and Kristine (Jim) and has lived in Cambridge all of his life. Grandfather of one, Garrisson.
