In Office: 2022-present

Born at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, Corey lives in her family house in Ward 3, on a street where neighbors still remember the day her parents brought her home from the hospital. Along with her husband Todd, Corey is busy raising their two daughters as part of her family’s third generation of Prestonians.

Corey attended Preston Public School, William G Davis, and Preston High, before graduating from University of Waterloo’s Faculty of Applied Health Sciences. She holds a BA with a major in Recreation and Leisure and a double minor in Business and Gerontology. Councillor Kimpson went on to obtain a certificate in volunteer management from Conestoga College and Certificates in Patient Experience Leadership and Patient Advocacy from Patient Experience Institute.

Corey has owned and operated several businesses in and around Cambridge, including the Preston Downtown Core. Her businesses have been in the retail and recreation sectors and have always received high marks for customer satisfaction.

Corey is the Chair of the Preston Towne Market Planning Committee and Co-Chair on parent councils at both Preston Public School and Preston High School. She served as Chair of the Cambridge Memorial Hospital’s Patient and Family Advisory Council and was awarded Innovative Patient Advisor of the Year, 2020 by the Beryl Institute. She is also a Breast-Feeding Buddy Peer, a St. John Ambulance Car Seat Safety Educator and an Ambulance Therapy Dog Volunteer.

Corey wants to preserve what is best from her community’s history, character and architecture, while also looking ahead to plan the city our children will inherit. She wants our neighborhoods to be inclusive, accessible, vibrant, fun and safe for everyone.
