The City of Cambridge is a member of the World Health Organization Global Network for Age-Friendly Cities and Communities. As such, we are focused on building a community where policies, services and spaces are designed to enable people of all ages to live in secure and accessible physical and social environments. Age-friendly communities contribute to good health and allow people to participate fully in society throughout their lifetime.
The World Health Organization Age-Friendly Cities Framework includes the following eight areas:

Age Friendly Community Services Guide
History
Fall 2022: The City embarked on the development of an Older Adult Strategy through the lens of the World Health Organizations (WHO) Age-friendly cities framework. Final strategy is aimed to be presented to Council in 2025.
November 2022: The City received official notice of acceptance as an Age-Friendly Community and member of the World Health Organization.
May 2021: Council approved the strategic plan including commitment to program age-friendly services that are accessible to all.
