There are eight different Wards in the City of Cambridge. These Wards provide an outline of our extended neighbourhoods. In some cases the City Wards show various geopolitical interest groups and reflect historical heritage.

How are Ward boundaries determined?

Geographical features, such as a river or freeway, divide some of our City Wards. Historical boundaries of our founding communities are another feature of some of our Ward boundaries.

Distribution of the City's population is another way Ward boundaries are set. Sometimes, it's necessary to adjust boundaries as population shifts within the community. These adjustments ensure that the City's citizens receive equal representation in Council.
