Vacancy Rebate Program |
The City of Cambridge provides a Vacancy Rebate Program for commercial and industrial property owners. The City taxes commercial and industrial properties for the year as if fully occupied. If there is continuous vacancy on these properties for more than 90 days, the owner can apply for a rebate of a portion of the taxes. The application deadline for the 2018 tax year is February 28, 2019.

Tax deferral for seniors and disabled persons |
Seniors who receive the Old Age Security benefit and supplement, and disabled persons who receive Ontario disability support payments can also apply for a tax deferral. Annual tax increases determine the amount of the deferral. You must pay a portion of the tax increase, with a minimum deferral of $50. Seniors and disabled persons must apply annually for this tax deferral. We only accept applications once the City issues the final tax bills.
