Picnic Areas remain as not reservable this year, but they are available on a first come first served basis with restrictions.

As of July 16, 2021  shelters are available but with lesser seating capacity for smaller groups.

Our largest Dolph Picnic shelter at Riverside cannot accommodate over 100

The City of Cambridge has both open air and sheltered picnic areas normally available for rental from May to end of September.

Rental bookings are not available until January 2022 and are taken on a first-come-first-serve basis at that time.

Rules and regulations

Alcohol and charcoal/open-flame BBQs are not permitted in our picnic areas. Only propane BBQs are allowed.

Larger picnic functions are not permitted at present.

Any area within 20 metres of any picnic area or shelter is designated smoke and vape-free, in accordance of the Smoke-Free Ontario Act

  • 3 picnic shelters at Riverside Park
  • 2 open air picnic areas at Riverside Park
  • 1 picnic shelter at Churchill Park
  • 1 open air picnic area at Churchill Park
  • 1 picnic shelter at Soper Park
  • 1 picnic shelter at Hespeler Optimist Park
