There are many natural areas and green spaces in the city of Cambridge where you can enjoy nature and outdoor activities.

Parks Master Plan

Starting in 2023, we're working to develop a Parks Master Plan that will help guide how parks are planned and operated in our city for the next 30 years. 
Your input is important to help us meet the needs of our growing community. 
  • Take the survey #1 by March 31, 2023. 
  • Public Meeting #1 will be held on March 8, 2023 7-9 p.m. at the Preston Auditorium Banquet Hall.

Parks

The City of Cambridge has more than 416 hectares of parkland.

A number of our parks have picnic areas and playing fields that you can rent. You can even rent Mill Race Park for your wedding photos or ceremony.

Trails

Cambridge has over 50 km of natural and urban trails throughout the city and 18 km of these trails travel along the historic Speed and Grand Rivers.

Conservation areas

Conservation areas within Cambridge include Shade's Mills park, Dumfries Conservation Area, Chilligo Conservation Area and Valens Conservation Area.

Forestry

The City is proud to have various plans, strategies and reports supporting forestry in Cambridge, such as our Urban Forest Plan Emerald Ash Borer Action Plan and the Urban Canopy Assessment Report.
