The safety of our campers and staff is our top priority. To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, camp programs adhere to the health guidelines that have been set by Waterloo Region Public Health, and the Province of Ontario. These guidelines include lower ratios and capacity, encouraging physical distancing, mandatory health screening, and enhanced facility cleaning.

Please note that off-site trips, and special guests are not permitted under the safety guidelines, and all staff and participants will remain on site for the 2020 camp season. We are eager and excited for this new adventure, and we look forward to welcoming your child back to camp this Summer!

Frequently asked questions for 2020 summer camps

How to Register?
Beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday June 30, families can register online through www.cambridge.ca/coral or in-person at the Service Cambridge Desk located on the 1st floor in City Hall. Spaces will be very limited to comply with the safety guidelines and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
What will a day in camp look like?
Our Recreation Camps will have a strong focus on outdoor play, mixed with arts, crafts, water games, and more.

Our CCA Camps will be facilitated by a Professional Artist who will engage participants in a theme specific experience based on the camp program being offered.

Will my child be attending trips or travel off-site?
Unfortunately, due to the Provincial and Regional Guidelines, we are not permitted to attend any trips nor will we be travelling off-site this summer.
Will my child participate in swimming activities?
Unfortunately, our pools will have a condensed and limited schedule, and Camp Swims will not be taken this summer.
Will you be offering one-on-one support?
Yes. Support and accommodation is available, and is limited. Please contact Danielle Tanner at tannerd@cambridge.ca should your child require one-on-one support for camp.
I already had a space in camp prior to COVID-19. Am I guaranteed a space in the new camp programs?
We recognize that working remotely is not an option for everyone and that Cambridge families will require child care options. We plan to support the community as much as capacity allows. Spaces will be very limited to comply with the safety guidelines and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Will I be required to submit additional documentation prior to camp?
Yes. Additional documentation will be required this year, prior to entering camp. For example, a weekly health declaration, and a daily participant pre-screening, a Camper Readiness Form, and a Hand Sanitizer Permission Form will be required for each child(ren) in your care.
I am in need of extended care, how do I register?
We have created an all-inclusive day from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at all facilities for this summer. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer further hours of care outside of the current offering. Extended care fees will not be in addition to camp fees this summer. Your registration fee is inclusive of these additional hours.
What time should I drop off my child?
You are welcome to drop off your child between the hours of 8 – 9 a.m. at each facility. Staff will be located outside of each facility, ready to welcome your child to camp.
I need to pick up my child early, what do I do?
As facilities will be closed to the public, a phone number will be provided to you, as well as will be listed on the outside of each facility for you to call prior to arrival. We will happily ensure your child has all their belongings, and escort them outside to meet you. Please remember that photo ID is required daily to pick up your child.
Are you offering online camps?
Yes! We are offering online video game design and programming camps. Visit the Cambridge Centre for the Arts website for more information.

City of Cambridge camp staff are certified in Standard First Aid and CPR C & AED, HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development and receive training on emergency procedures, safety and program planning.
