Growth and Intensification

Background

In July 2015, the City of Cambridge hired Dillon Consulting to complete the Growth and Intensification Study. The Study identifies areas within Cambridge ideal for growth because of access to existing and planned infrastructure, such as transit and services.

Secondary plans

The Growth and Intensification Study will include six secondary plans providing policies to:

  • Encourage development opportunities
  • Increase population
  • Increase employment
  • Ensure the character and stability of established residential neighbourhoods and commercial areas are maintained and enhanced

Current Projects

On December 12, 2022 a Public Information Centre was held to invite area residents and interested parties to a presentation and discussion about the draft secondary plans for the Hespeler Road Corridor, and the Main Street and Dundas Street South Node.  The secondary plans are intended to provide a policy framework to help guide growth and development within the study areas.  The presentation provided by the consultants is available to view below.
