Municipal Elections

In Ontario, municipal elections take place the fourth Monday of October every four years. The municipal election is your opportunity to have a say on who will be your mayor, ward councillor, regional chair, regional councillors, and school board trustees. These elected officials make important decisions that affect your city, community, region and schools.

The next municipal election takes place on Monday, October 24, 2022.

Find Candidates

Check who is running for office in the municipal election below. Find candidates' websites and contact information (as candidates establish their campaign websites and once they share them with the City, they will be added here).

The following list contains website links provided by candidates and third party advertisers to the City Clerk. The City Clerk provides these links to the public strictly as a convenience to promote citizen involvement in the municipal election. The Clerk does not operate or control any aspect of these sites. By providing a link to a candidate or third advertiser’s site, the Clerk is not endorsing them. The Clerk does not review, endorse or approve the sites and is not responsible for them in any way.

Are You on the Voters’ List for the Upcoming Municipal Election?

Voters can visit City Hall to add themselves to the Voters' List if they are not currently registered as Cambridge Voters. Voters can also correct their personal information (i.e. name, property address, school support) by visiting City Hall. Voters can only add or update their own information. You cannot add or update information for other voters.

Even if you had updated your information with Elections Ontario for the Provincial Election that took place in June 2022, you must also update your information with the City of Cambridge.

Please note that no revisions or additions can occur online or over the phone with City representatives. All changes must be made in person at City Hall. Voters must bring valid proof of identification with them in order to make any Voters' List revisions.

Updating this information will help to ensure that municipal voters’ lists are accurate and up to date in preparation for municipal and school board elections this October.

My Name is Not on the Voters' List. How Can I Add It?

If your name is not on the voters’ list, complete the Application to Amend the Voters’ List and visit the Municipal Clerk’s Division at 50 Dickson Street, Cambridge, during regular business hours (Monday - Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm).

What if My Name or Address is Not Entered Correctly on the Voters' List?
To correct your information on the Voters’ List, call (519) 623 - 1340 ext. 4339 or visit the Municipal Clerk’s Division at 50 Dickson Street, Cambridge, during regular business hours.
Can I Remove Someone Else’s Name From the Voters’ List?

Yes, if the person is deceased. You may bring the proof of death to the Municipal Clerk’s office on the 1st Floor of City Hall at 50 Dickson Street, Cambridge.

No, if the person is living. You cannot remove another living person from the Voters’ List except yourself. If you want to remove someone from the Voters’ List who is identified at your property, you may contact MPAC (1-866-296-6722) to make a request.

I am Sure I am on the Voters’ List but am Told I am not. Why?

There may be several reasons why you are not showing on the Voters’ List, including:

  • You are included on the list with one name, but you are checking with another name (e.g., “Pat” instead of “Patricia”).
  • You have moved within the last four years.
  • Your name, address, or birthdate are recorded incorrectly on the voters’ list and do not match what you have typed in.
  • MPAC may not have been able to confirm your eligibility (i.e., citizenship, etc.) and left you off the list.

  • Councillor for the City of Cambridge - Eight (8) to be elected, one in each ward.
