This does not mean our snow clearing operations have ended, only that the City feels the weather has subsided enough to allow crews to restore roads and sidewalks to regular winter operating conditions.

Significant Weather Event (SWE) Declared starting Sunday, January 25, 2026 at 6:00pm
The City of Cambridge has declared a Significant Weather Event (SWE) in the area because of potential or existing hazardous weather conditions. This declaration will continue until further notice and means that:

The City of Cambridge is declaring a Significant Weather Event (SWE) starting Thursday, January 15 at noon (12 p.m.). This declaration is due to the significant snow accumulation experienced and forecasted of more than 20 cm and ongoing flurries expected over the next few days.
This declaration will continue until further notice and means that:
All roads/sidewalks maintained by the City may take longer than usual to restore to regular winter operating conditions.
