Update – January 12, 2020 – 10:30 a.m.

Heavy rains this weekend, combined with frozen ground conditions this morning, have caused flooding and water run -off due to high river and creek flows. Please note the following closures:

  • Blackbridge Road has been closed from Baldwin Drive to Townline Road
  • Riverside Park ( including Rogers Drive) has been closed to all vehicular traffic.
  • The Mill Run Trail has been closed from Hespeler to Preston
  • The north side of Soper Park has also been closed
  • Water St S. is closed from Concession St. to Myers Rd due to water on road
  • Trail closures at Morva Rouse Park and at river accesses on the Bob McMullen Trail

Please note that water is pooling on many roads throughout the city and region. The drop in temperatures is causing icy conditions. Please obey warning signage and drive with caution. Sidewalk crews are out across the city salting sidewalks.

Please stay safe and away from all creeks and waterways. Flows are high and fast and are considered hazardous.

With the heavy rains and frozen ground conditions, surface run off with high river and creek flows is causing some closures. Blackbridge Road has been closed from Baldwin Drive to Townline Road. Riverside Park's Rogers Drive has been closed to all vehicular traffic and the park is also closed. The Mill Run Trail has been closed from Hespeler to Preston, and the north side of Soper Park has been closed due to park walkways being under water.

Please stay clear of all rivers and creeks as their creek slopes and riverbanks are very slippery and dangerous.
