Unofficial Voting results for the 2022 Municipal and School Board Election
Jan Liggett has been elected Mayor of the City of Cambridge
Cambridge, Ontario. (October 24, 2022) – Cambridge City Clerk Danielle Manton has released the unofficial results for the 2022 Municipal and School Board Election. With 46.22% of the vote, Jan Liggett has been elected as Mayor and four new Councillors will join City Council for the next four-year term.
This year’s election saw a voter turnout of 28.87% with 27,689 eligible voters casting a ballot. With 45 polls in the City’s eight wards, a variety of accessible options were provided for voters to participate in this year’s elections, including in-person, at-home, curbside and internet voting. This year, over 17k ballots were cast online. This year’s participation represents a 10.5% decrease in voter turnout compared to 32.24% in 2018.
