Posted on Thursday June 10, 2021

As part of the Government of Ontario’s Roadmap to Reopen, Cambridge’s three outdoor pools will be open as of Friday, June 11. All programs will have a maximum capacity based on physical distancing requirements and visitors are encouraged to book their spot in advance.

Recreational swims have been modified to follow guidelines and health precautions as set out by the Province of Ontario and the Waterloo Regional Public Health Unit. This includes:

  • Mandatory active screening, contact information and attendance for all guests. You can find the screening questionnaire at cambridge.ca/screening.
  • Water exercise (e.g. Aquafit) and Leadership classes have a capacity of 10 participants per pool/space.
  • Recreation swim capacities will be modified to meet public health and provincial safety regulations.
  • No spectators permitted. One guardian is permitted for those under 18 years of age during swim lessons only.
  • Patrons may only be in the facility for 90 minutes except if engaging in a sport/training.
  • Participants are asked to arrive as close to their designated time as possible: entry into the facility is allowed 10 minutes prior to the start of the scheduled program time.
  • In-person, fitness classes (e.g. Aquafit) - individuals must maintain a physical distance of at least three metres from every other person.

More information about swim schedules and requirements can be found on the City’s website.
