Join the conversation on the new Cambridge Recreation Complex!

Posted on Monday November 20, 2023

The City of Cambridge is inviting residents to share their thoughts on the final stages of the creation of the new recreation complex at public engagement sessions throughout December.

Choose the session that works for you! Residents will have the opportunity to share their impressions on the design for the new recreation complex during the following dates and locations:

  • December 6, 2023, 6-8pm @ Preston Idea Exchange,
  • December 7, 2023, 6-8pm @ Hespeler Idea Exchange,
  • December 14, 2023, 6-8pm @ Kinbridge Community Association – 200 Christopher Drive, Cambridge (in Duncan McIntosh Community Centre)

City staff and project architects will be on hand to answer questions and engage residents in conversations on a number of topics including; proposed amenities and activities; library design priorities, programs and services, outdoor spaces, washroom/changeroom design and more!

To ensure these engagement sessions are accessible for families, Idea Exchange will provide activities for the kids. Refreshments will also be available.

Can't make it out in person? A virtual meeting will be held on December 13, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. Details on how to access the meeting will be available at cambridge.ca/reccomplex.

The recreation complex will be located in south Cambridge and is expected to be completed in 2026. It will serve as a versatile community space featuring a 10 lane, 25m swimming pool and warm water leisure pool, 3 FIBA Gymnasiums, Running/walking track and fitness area, multi-purpose rooms, and an Idea Exchange library location (Cambridge Public Library).
