Water Reservoir Maintenance on Cheese Factory Rd, overnight Fri. July 3

Posted on Thursday June 25, 2020

The City will be repairing water infrastructure at the South Cambridge Water Reservoir on Cheese Factory Road. This work is being coordinated with the Region of Waterloo and will take place overnight between Thursday, July 2 and Friday, July 3, starting at midnight, for approximately 4 hours.

The work will require isolating sections of the existing water supply system which may result in reduced water pressure and/or discoloured water for some customers. Water supply will not be interrupted. Affected customers will also receive letters delivered directly to their properties about these temporary impacts.

Affected areas

Please see the map for the affected area of south Cambridge, which generally includes the area south of Main Street east of Franklin Boulevard and west of Branchton Road, and the area south of Myers Road, east of Greenbrier Road.

After the work is completed

After the water main isolation when drinking water supply is restored in the distribution system, residents may notice discoloured water. It is recommended to run the cold un-softened water tap nearest to your supply for 10 minutes to clear the water. If the problem persists, please wait for an hour and try again.

We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank residents in advance for your patience during this repair work. If you have any questions please contact Public Works at the City of Cambridge at 519-621-0740.
