The Economic Developers Council of Ontario (EDCO) has honoured the City of Cambridge with an EDCO Award of Excellence for our interactive story mapping initiative.

Highlighting the locations around Cambridge that have been used in various film projects, our story maps allow users to perform self-guided tours of these locations and explore the world of film and television in Cambridge. Explore our Filming in Cambridge and Handmaid’s Tale story maps.

A collaboration between the City’s Economic Development and GIS divisions, the story mapping project aimed to celebrate the natural and built landscapes that make our city unique using an innovative approach that would encourage community engagement and participation.

Recognizing leaders in economic development, the ECDO Award of Excellence honours success and achievement in the areas of promotion, collaboration, and building initiatives. This year saw 118 submissions from across 55 Ontario communities with 35 awards given out overall.
