City of Cambridge to welcome back Oktoberfest lunch
The City of Cambridge is pleased to once again be hosting the community Oktoberfest Lunch at City Hall. After two years of COVID-19 restrictions, Oktoberfest returns to Civic Square at Cambridge City Hall on October 5, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
All are welcome to attend this free public event, with donations to the Cambridge Food Bank encouraged. There will be a ceremonial keg tapping, Bavarian music, maypole raising, appearances by Onkel Hans and Tante Frieda and free Oktoberfest sausages.
“We are thrilled to once again welcome the community to City Hall for an event that is truly a staple in our city and the region that we all look forward to,” said Mayor Kathryn McGarry. “This is a labour of love for so many volunteers and we look forward to celebrating together once again. Prost!”
Dickson St. will be closed from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. on October 5, as a result of the Oktoberfest celebration. Motorists are being asked to plan alternate routes when travelling through the area.
This event is sponsored by the Office of Mayor and Council at the City of Cambridge, M&M Meat Shops, Sobeys Inc., Farm League Brewing, Cambridge Farmers’ Market, Cambridge Food Bank and 107.5 Dave Rocks.
