Posted on Thursday April 14, 2022

The City of Cambridge continues efforts to deliver quality activities for all ages and abilities to enjoy by expanding pickleball recreation programs to ages nine and up at Duncan McIntosh Arena this spring and summer.

Duncan McIntosh pickleball programs for adults, youth and children will be run on four new regulation-size modular synthetic sports courts that have been installed for the season—marking the first time the City has had this size and quantity of courts available.

‘Learn to Play’ instruction and ‘Open Play’ game programs are available now for sign up on the Coral registration site.

Program specifics

  • Learn to Play: This program will be an introduction to the game, focused on the basic rules, fundamental skills and game play.
  • Open Play: Pay as you play is a great option for those who are looking for flexibility in dates, times and location. Registration is still recommended.

Equipment can be made available on request.

Pickleball the game

Pickleball is truly a sport for all ages-all abilities. It is a paddle-racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis. It is played on an indoor or outdoor court with teams set up as single or more commonly, double players.
