Significant Weather Event (SWE) and Snow Event Declared starting Saturday, February 15 at 9:00 a.m.
Posted on Friday February 14, 2025
The City of Cambridge has declared a Significant Weather Event and a Snow Event in the area because of anticipated winter weather conditions. This declaration will continue until further notice and means that:
- An on-street parking ban is in effect. Vehicles should not be parked on any city street at any time for the duration of the Significant Weather Event. This allows snowplows to clear more efficiently and safely. By-law staff will be actively enforcing this ban, and vehicles left on the road may be ticketed and/or towed.
- Sidewalks should be cleared within 36 hours following the end of snowfall. Snow should not be shoveled onto the road.
- Drivers and pedestrians should use an appropriate level of caution when travelling during this event.
- All roads/sidewalks maintained by the City may take longer than usual to restore to regular winter operating conditions.
- City staff are actively maintaining roads and are not able to immediately respond to individual calls about snow. Please wait 36 hours after the weather event is over to report a problem area.
