Cambridge, Ontario. (August 23, 2022) – This week, Cambridge municipal leaders met with Provincial Ministers and leaders at the annual Association of Municipal Organizations (AMO) Conference in London, Ontario.

Cambridge Mayor Jan Liggett led delegations with 7 Ministries to discuss key local priorities. As part of her desire to empower council members, she also provided various members of council with the opportunity to share the meetings with her and guide the opening of delegations. Discussions included mental health and addiction, ensuring the protection of our Heritage buildings due to Bill 23, flood plain protections, bridging the skill trade gap, and advocating for funding for our much-needed infrastructure upgrades and our new sports and recreation complex.

“The AMO conference is not only an excellent opportunity to advocate, for not only the present but also the future, on behalf of the City to the Provincial Government” says Mayor Liggett, “but it is also a chance for council and staff to meet with colleagues from other cities and towns to share ideas and best practices.”

The AMO Conference serves as an opportunity for municipal officials to discuss shared challenges and opportunities for their communities.
