A day of reflection: Remembrance Day ceremonies held throughout the City

Posted on Thursday November 06, 2025

As Remembrance Day approaches, we honour the bravery and courage of those who gave their lives in service to Canada, as well as those who have served and continue to serve in the Canadian forces and as part of the Royal Canadian Legion.

On Monday, November 11, City flags will be flown at half-mast and we invite members of the community to join us in observing two minutes of silence at 11 a.m. to show gratitude for the courage and sacrifice of our veterans and soldiers.

Some roads will be closed temporarily to accommodate Remembrance Day ceremonies in each of the city’s core areas.
