The City of Cambridge recognizes volunteers as an essential resource for the current and future development of our community. We support, facilitate and value the efforts of all our volunteers. Our volunteer opportunities range from a one-time only two-hour commitment to a weekly commitment on a year-round basis, and everything in between!

Volunteer Opportunities
There are many volunteer opportunities in the following areas:

  • Friendly Visiting Program

How to Get Involved

Look at our Current Volunteer Opportunities List (see Related Documents below) to see which volunteer positions are currently available. If you see something you are interested in, call or email the listed contact person for more details.

Complete and submit a Volunteer Application Form (see Related Documents below). Staff will review your application and be in contact with you regarding an interview and other screening procedures.

  • Screening, orientation and training, including job descriptions and volunteer resource information.
  • Ongoing skill development.
  • Regular volunteer recognition and training.
  • Ongoing support and guidance from Community Services Staff and Volunteers.
