Sewer and Water Rates Within Cambridge
The City of Cambridge delivers water distribution and sewage collection services for Cambridge residents. The Region of Waterloo is responsible for the treatment of this water and sewage, which makes up approximately 2/3 of the City of Cambridge water and wastewater operating costs.
Cambridge and North Dumfries Hydro issues bills and collects fees on behalf of the the City. As of September 30, 2010 the City of Cambridge will convert to an internal billing process to realize savings and efficiencies for our customers.

Determining 2010 Fixed Water and Sewer Rates
Provincial legislation requires that all costs of operating water and sewer systems must come from users. To accomplish this, a rate structure with both fixed service charges and variable consumption rates is in place. Water and sewer consumption charges are based on the volume of water recorded on your meter during the billing period. The fixed service charges are the basic costs to provide the services regardless of volume and based on the size of the water meter.
